Minister of State for Schools Congratulates Tarporley High School on being one of the top 90 non-selective state schools for sustained improvement
The Rt Hon David Laws (MP) has written to Sarah Lee, Head Teacher of Tarporley High School and Sixth Form College to congratulate the school on the sustained improvement it has shown in its GCSE results.
Over the last 3 years, the percentage of pupils achieving 5 A*-C including English and maths at the school, rated Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in 2014, has consistently increased. This places the school in the top 90 non selective schools in the country for the greatest sustained improvement. In 2014, the school saw its highest GCSE results to date, with 35% of all grades awarded at A*/A and an impressive 86% students achieving A*-C in both English and maths GCSEs.
The Rt Hon David Laws also said, “I would like to congratulate your staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and success […] and for continuing their drive towards the highest standards of educational achievement.”
Head Teacher Sarah Lee said “We are delighted to receive this recognition and it is testament to the ongoing hard work and dedication of our talented staff and students.”
